Searon Yanthan is the Director of Marketing at Lithanro Pvt. Ltd and one of the key driving forces behind the company’s growth in sustainable coffee cultivation, processing, and market expansion in Nagaland.

His journey with coffee began in 2019–20, when he took charge of the farming activities at the Lithanro Coffee Estate. With a vision to empower farmers and promote long-term sustainability, he began networking with smallholder growers across Nagaland. Through these efforts, Lithanro distributed more than 100,000 free coffee saplings in the initial years, encouraging farmers to adopt coffee as a viable and sustainable crop.

What began with a handful of growers has now expanded into a strong and active farmer network. By November 2022, Lithanro had established a full-fledged curing facility and was working directly with over 150 farmers across 11 districts of Nagaland.

Under Searon’s leadership, Lithanro focuses on organic and sustainable farming methods and supplies exclusively to specialty coffee roasters across India, serving markets such as Mumbai, Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Dehradun, and Bangalore.

In 2023, Searon founded JÜRO, a brand under Lithanro Pvt. Ltd, featuring a coffeehouse, specialty roastery, and a roasting and grinding (R&G;) unit. JÜRO caters to both retail consumers and specialty cafés, strengthening Lithanro’s vision of building a complete farm-to-cup ecosystem.

Lithanro has earned national and international recognition under his leadership. The company was selected as one of the Top 16 Coffee Startups of India by the Coffee Board of India in 2023 and showcased its work at the Startup Pavilion during the World Coffee Conference 2023. More recently, Lithanro represented India at Coffex Istanbul 2025.

Beyond entrepreneurship, Searon also serves as a member of the Stakeholders’ Committee on Coffee-based Ecotourism, contributing to initiatives that blend coffee cultivation with sustainable tourism.

Educational & Personal Background

Searon completed his schooling and higher secondary education (Class 12) from St. John’s International Residential School (SJIRS), Chennai.

He later pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a specialization in Marketing at IFIM (Institute of Finance and International Management), Bangalore. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he chose to drop out and fully dedicate himself to building Lithanro, transforming it into one of Nagaland’s most credible and rapidly growing coffee enterprises.

Lithanro remains a bootstrapped venture, driven by Searon’s vision to empower farmers, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and place Nagaland firmly on the global specialty coffee map.
