Studying coffee growth processes to develop solutions for climate-resilient, sustainable cultivation.
The Division focuses on understanding the internal processes governing coffee growth under varying climatic and soil conditions. It develops strategies to overcome cultivation challenges through innovative techniques.
Key innovations include SSP foliar sprays to boost flowering, herbal tonics and lime sprays for drought mitigation, the CCPD (Cobalt Chloride Paper Disc) technique for irrigation timing, and optimal shade management using LUX meters.
Additional advancements involve nutrient foliar sprays, starch index assessments, pruning strategies for die-back disease, and PGR applications to reduce premature berry drop — all contributing to sustainable and climate-resilient coffee production.
