The Division focuses on advancing scientific research to support sustainable coffee cultivation. Key initiatives include micropropagation techniques for mass production of high-quality planting material and the use of DNA marker technology for genetic improvement.

The Division also conducts DNA fingerprinting to assess genetic diversity, supporting conservation and breeding programs. Additionally, efforts are underway to develop pest- and disease-resistant coffee varieties through genetic modification techniques, ensuring long-term crop resilience and productivity.
