Enhancing coffee productivity through innovation, sustainability, and technology-driven practices.

Agronomy

About the Division

The Agronomy Division enhances coffee productivity through efficient soil health management, mechanization, and improved cropping systems. It has developed innovative soil conservation techniques such as cradle pits and contour terracing, along with intercropping models that optimize irrigation and fertigation for Robusta coffee.

Modified planting designs, including hedge and paired rows, have improved mechanization efficiency. The Division also provides training, collaborates on demonstration plots with NAPP-Fair Trade, and promotes the use of digital tools like drones and GPS for precision farming. Monthly advisories in six regional languages further support coffee growers across the region.
