Driving research and development for robusta coffee cultivation in Wayanad, Kerala.
Kerala is the second largest coffee-producing state in India, with predominantly robusta cultivation in small holdings. To develop appropriate technologies for robusta in this region, a regional research station was established during 1977-78 near Chundale village in Wayanad district.
The station spans 166 hectares, including a 30-hectare coffee research farm. It has skilled scientific and technical staff, along with adequate laboratory facilities to conduct research across various disciplines.
