CCRI Farm

The Central Coffee Research Institute farm spreads across 285 acres, with 183 acres dedicated to coffee plantations, including 68 acres of Arabica and 114 acres of Robusta. Located 980 meters above mean sea level and supported by approximately 9,875 shade trees, the farm provides an ideal condition for coffee research and conservation. The farm with nearly 9,875 shade trees and serves as a globally significant repository for coffee biodiversity through its World Germplasm Collection, housing over 300 Arabica and more than 80 Robusta germplasm. In addition, the farm maintains dedicated R&D demonstration blocks for various research departments, including experimental plots focused on Integrated Pest Management (IPM), organic farming, mechanization, and other advanced cultivation practices. The institute also prioritises worker welfare through measures implemented under the Karnataka Plantation Act and promote sustainable, inclusive development throughout the coffee sector.
