Know Your Kaapi (KYK)

The "Know Your Kaapi (KYK)" initiative is a dedicated cup quality evaluation programme by the Coffee Board of India aimed at helping coffee growers understand, assess, and enhance the true potential of their coffees.

In today's quality-driven coffee market, coffee cup quality plays a crucial role in determining value and premium realization. KYK enables growers to move beyond production metrics and explore the sensory identity of their coffee from bean to cup. Participants receive comprehensive reports with insights to improve quality and consistency.

Coffees are evaluated under seven categories

1 Arabica – Washed Bulk
5 Robusta – Naturals / Cherry Bulk
2 Arabica – Naturals / Cherry Bulk
6 Robusta – Specialty / Experimentally Processed Bulk
3 Arabica – Specialty / Experimentally Processed Bulk
7 Alternate Species (Liberica / Excelsa / Others) – Washed / Naturals / Cherry / Experimentally Processed
4 Robusta – Washed Bulk

Flavor of India Fine Cup Award

Each year, the top-scoring coffees in all seven categories are recognized with the Know Your Kaapi – Flavor of India Fine Cup Award, celebrating excellence in cup quality and showcasing the finest coffees of India.
